Utopia by Thomas More – Review

In Utopia, Thomas More talks about a society where there’s no private property, in which governors are chosen by popular vote. There’s the right to divorce and to perform euthanasia, everyone has the right to free hospital assistance and there’s religious freedom.

Thomas More tries to demonstrate what he believes to be the perfect society.

Even though it was written more than 500 years ago it is still current and approaches concepts that are still debated to this day.

The first half of the book was a little hard to get into but once the author starts describing this said to be perfect island everything flows easily. You might or might not agree with More’s ideals, however I found this book to be educational either way.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Bye, keep on reading!
