The Metamorphosis by Kafka Review

This is a story about a normal young man that one day wakes to be a giant beetle. The book tells us how he dealled and how his family reacted to this unfortunate event which changed their lives forever.

At the begining I found this book to be quite dull, but this was only true for the first few pages. What I mean is, he wakes up and realizes he is a beetle and that is it for the first part of the book. However, after a while I realized the book was much more, it is a story about how to deal with rejection and change. Basically, the main character has to learn how to live again, but this time being of no use to society as well as a burden to his own family.

I found his family to be a quiet stupid group of people, as I see it they could have been way more understanding.

It was strange, thrilling and sad. All in one.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

  1. I’ve had this on my shelf forever and I actually didn’t know what it was about….. but this sounds really interesting but definitely something I’d have to be in the mood to read since it doesn’t sounds more philosophical than character or plot based.
